Coda (2022) Review

Coda is a movie about a deaf family who has one child that is able to speak. She goes to pursue her love of music and the family is reluctant to let her go because they need her to translate in their fishing business they have. This movie stars Kevin Chapman, Emilia Jones, Troy Kotsur and Marlee Matlin. I definitely can see why this movie won best movie of the year. It totally deserved it. It’s a great movie. You have to read subtitles when they are doing hand sign language but definitely worth it. The performances were out of this world. Emilia Jones really carried this movie. She did a phenomenal job, as well as Troy Kotsur, who won the award for best supporting male actor. He deserved it as well and in his supporting role that he did. I can’t say enough about the movie there were times where it was emotional and there were times where it was funny and there’s a small twist of a love story in there as well. Definitely worth your time seeing it. I give it 4 stars. It’s an hour and 51 minutes long.
