Richard Jewell (2019) Review

Richard Jewell is a movie about a security guard that tries to stop a bombing that actually happened at the Atlantic Olympics in Centennial Park in 1996. It is based on a true story and I have to say it is a very well done story. I don’t believe what people are saying out there about a journalist and what they’re saying about her not getting a fair shake. I think she has what’s coming to her for what she did to Richard Jewell’s life by putting out false information. What a phenomenal job by Paul Walter Hauser. I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets nominated for an Oscar for his performance in this movie. Sam Rockwell and Kathy Bates also did great performances in this movie. I don’t get it how people are saying the way this movie portrays the female journalist Cathy Scruggs, played by Olivia Wilde who did a good job in her performance, tarnishes her character. But again I don’t get why people are concerned on how her character is supposed to be tarnished with what she did to Richard Jewell’s life by getting it wrong on what he did and tearing up his life in the process makes no sense to me. I feel that she should have apologized to him after she found out that he didn’t do what she claimed he did is the part I don’t understand. I highly recommend you see the movie. Clint Eastwood did a great job with it as he does with all his movies. The acting was really good. I would give the movie a good 3 plus stars. Running time is 2 hours and 9 minutes.
