The Woman King is a remarkable story of the Agojie all female unit warriors who protected the African kingdom of the Dahomey in the 1800s with skills of deadly force like no other in the world has shown to that point. There is a great story being told here especially the understory of the familyhood that you go through with this force of woman in Africa at this point in time. There’s other things that are being told in this movie too. I thought it was a really good movie. I’d give it 2 and a 1/2 to 3 stars and of course Viola Davis always knocks it out of the park but the other ladies do a great job as well. The movie is 2 hours and 15 minutes long. Well worth your time. I highly recommended you see it.
