A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood is not a history lesson about Mister Rogers’ life. This is a movie from the eyes of a journalist name Matthew Rhys who told of his meeting with Mr. Rogers as he was writing a piece about Mister Rogers’ life. What you get is a really good performance by Tom Hanks of course and the movie is very well done and directed. I highly recommend you see it. Just keep in mind that the movie is from the eyes of the journalist and how Mr. Rogers touch his life in the process. Yes I wish they would have started the movie with a little history of Mr. Rogers’ life but of course Matthew Rhys didn’t have privy to this. But I still recommend seeing the movie for what it portrays and the life lesson it gives. I give it 3 stars.
