Being the Ricardos (2021) Review

Being the Ricardos stars Nicole Kidman as Lucille Ball and Javier Bardem as Desi Arnaz. The movie is set in the beginning of Lucille Ball’s movie career and she’s doing the TV show I Love Lucy and she gets a political smear from a radio talk show host about her supposed communist alliance as well as the romantic relationship between Lucy and Desi. Of course you’re centered around her show at the time which was the number one show on TV by a landslide. Phenomenal movie. I can’t say enough about Aaron Sorkin’s job on this movie as a writer and director. The performances by Nicole Kidman and Javier Bardem are spot on. A phenomenal choice of choosing these two to play Lucy and Desi. You get your money’s worth on this one. Great backstory, great writing, phenomenal directing and phenomenal performances by all the actors. J.K. Simmons was spot-on as well. I highly recommend you see the movie. You’ll love the story it tells and the performances. I give it three and a half stars. The movie is 125 minutes long.
