Brian Banks (2019) Review

Without a doubt the best movie of the weekend. Brian Banks is an independent film so there isn’t a lot of money behind it but usually those are the best films and this one holds true to character. Independent films are usually some of the best movies of the year. They are the ones that win the awards and in this case this one should definitely be up there. If you enjoy your movies you want to go see this movie. It’s based on a true story and I really highly recommend you to see it. The characters did a great job. The guy playing Brian Banks (Aldis Hodge), knocked a home run. He did a phenomenal job. He isn’t a really well known actor but usually that’s what they like for these types of parts so that they can become the character and he really did. I think he did a phenomenal job. Greg Kinnear playing the attorney did a really good job as well as the other characters in the movie. Morgan Freeman’s character did an awesome job to help him as well as Sherri Shepherd, who played his mom, did a phenomenal job as well. The character acting in this movie was really good. The director brought out the best of the characters which helped make this movie as good as it was. Based upon a guy that gets wrongfully convicted of a rape when he is 16 years old and he goes to jail for 11 years. Then he gets out and tries to clear his name. So with that concept of the movie you get an idea of what it’s about but I’ll tell you what – it’s a movie you have to see. The things that are told and the way it went about it was just phenomenal, I highly recommend it. I give it a 4 star rating. Definitely one of the better movies of the year. I wouldn’t be surprised if this one here goes up for Oscar nominations. If it doesn’t it definitely got shorted cause it was that good of a movie. This movie is showing at the Landmark’s Main Art Theatre in Royal Oak, Michigan. Enjoy the movies.
